Vinyl siding on homes is a no-brainer for many homeowners. When you compare it to most other materials, it is much cheaper, easier to install and easier to care for. There is no wonder that so many homes have it in this country. In fact, it is by far the most common material that homeowners choose for siding.
Of course, if you don’t mind spending some extra money and you are prepared to do the maintenance, there are other materials that provide a more beautiful home, but this doesn’t mean that vinyl siding is ugly by any means.
There are a couple of possible downsides to vinyl siding. It doesn’t tolerate high heat, so a grill or fire that is too close to the home could pose a problem. In extremely cold weather, vinyl can become brittle and easily broken if exposed to blunt force. On the bright side though, single vinyl panels can easily be replaced making it a breeze to fix such issues.
