Your gutters and downspouts aren’t really on your mind until there is a problem with them. Without a proper drainage system for your roof, your roof can get damaged. Your drainage system needs to be large enough to handle the volume of water that runs off the roof or water will spill over the edges or even back up into sensitive areas of your roof.
If your gutters and downspouts are old and starting to sag and twist, it is time to do something with them. It is not only unsightly, but also prevents the system from working to capacity. A replacement might be necessary, but in many cases some simple repairs can fix the problem. If you replace the fasteners that are holding your gutters, this can fix the sagging. Make sure that they are fastened with screws instead of nails, since these hold the fasteners in place more firmly.
