If your windows in your home appear foggy, even white-tinted, and they can’t be cleared up, what might be the problem?
This condition is caused when a double pane window has failed. In between the panes of the windows there is a gas that works as an insulator to make them more efficient. Naturally, this gas is sealed in, but when the gas is heated up by the sunlight it expands, and when it cools it contracts, causing a constant wear on the seal. Over time this seal could fail, letting air and moisture in and causing the condition that makes the window look foggy.
Unfortunately, fixing this problem is complicated. Repairing it might cost you quite a bit, and the result will not be as good as the original window. You might be better off replacing your windows.
Since this problem is caused by the heat from the sun, you will usually notice the problem appearing on the side of your home that gets the most direct sunlight.
